Queues likely ahead

Meaning. Traffic queues are likely ahead.

What you must do. Reduce speed, increase your following distance, and check your mirrors — the vehicle behind may not have seen it.

Remember it

A queue of cars, one behind the other: stationary traffic ahead.

On the road. A brief use of hazard warning lights is permitted on a motorway to warn traffic behind of the queue you have just seen.

Meaning. Roadworks are ahead.

What you must do. Slow to the temporary limit, follow lane markings and cones, and merge in turn where a lane closes.

Remember it

On the road. Temporary limits at roadworks protect people on foot. They are enforced by average-speed cameras on motorways.
