What TheoryTestAdvice.com stores, where it is stored, and what we do not collect.
The short version
You can use this entire site without an account. Your revision progress is stored in your own browser, not on our servers, and only if you allow it. We do not sell personal data.

What we do not do
- We do not require an account to learn, practise or take mock tests.
- We do not upload your answers or scores to our servers.
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not build advertising profiles from your revision performance.
- We do not use engagement techniques designed to keep you on the site longer than is useful.
Because many learner drivers are young, we take that last point seriously: no streak-pressure notifications, no artificial scarcity, no dark patterns in the consent banner.
Your control
- Change your mind at any time using the “Manage cookie choices” link in the footer of every page.
- Delete everything from your progress page, which clears all saved revision data from this browser immediately.
- Use the site anonymously by declining progress storage. Everything still works; it simply forgets you between visits.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. Because progress data never leaves your browser, we usually hold nothing about you to disclose — but if you contact us we will tell you exactly what, if anything, we hold.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Retention
- Progress data: kept in your browser until you clear it. Nothing expires it for you.
- Consent records: kept in your browser with the date you made the choice.
- Analytics: retained for no longer than 14 months in aggregate form.
- Emails you send us: kept for up to 24 months so we can follow up corrections.
Third parties
If you allow advertising, Google and its partners may set cookies and process data as independent controllers under their own terms. See the cookies page for the detail, and how Google uses data on partner sites.
