Cookies and local storage
Every category of storage this site uses, what it is for, and how to change your mind.
This site uses very little. Most of what would normally be a cookie is instead local storage in your own browser — your revision progress never travels to us.
Categories
Strictly necessary Always on
Needed for the site to work — remembering your cookie choice and keeping a test you are part-way through. Cannot be switched off.
Your revision progress
Stores your lessons, scores, mistakes and revision plan in this browser so you can pick up where you left off. Nothing is sent to us.
Anonymous usage measurement
Helps us see which lessons are confusing and which questions are answered wrongly most often, so we can improve them.
Advertising
Allows advertising cookies so the ads that keep this site free can be selected and measured. Without this you may still see non-personalised ads.
What is actually stored
| Name | Type | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
tta.consent.v1 | Local storage | Records which categories you allowed, and when | Until you clear it |
tta.progress.v1 | Local storage | Lessons, question history, scores, mistakes, revision plan | Until you clear it |
tta.theme | Local storage | Your light or dark display choice | Until you clear it |
tta.attempt.* | Session storage | Keeps a mock test you are part-way through if the page reloads | When you close the tab |
| Google advertising cookies | Third-party cookies | Ad selection, frequency capping and measurement | Set by Google; see their policy |
Advertising rows appear only once advertising is live on the site and you have allowed it.
If you refuse everything
Everything still works. Specifically:
- You can read every lesson, take every quiz and sit every mock test.
- Your results are shown at the end of the session as normal.
- Nothing is remembered the next time you visit — no progress, no revision queue, no plan.
- You may still see non-personalised advertising.
Clearing what is stored
Use the “Delete my revision data” button on your progress page, or clear site data in your browser settings. Both remove everything immediately and cannot be undone.
